We here at TheTechPirate.NET are gamers, through and through. We love to experience games at the highest fps and graphics settings our poor PC battle-stations can handle. One game we have been looking forward to here has been Cyberpunk 2077. The futuristic open-world shooter has had a rough time since it’s official launch on December 10th, 2020. This has been especially true on the older hardware, specifically the PlayStation 4. Today, PlayStation announced that they are offering a full refund for anyone who purchased the game through their digital store.
CD Projekt Red, the developers of Cyberpunk 2077, suggested earlier in the week that anyone who wants a refund should go through their platforms digital store. This was a bit of a problem since PlayStation usually has quite strict standards for awarding a refund. This is interesting but the bigger story is that PlayStation has removed the game from their digital store completely. We confirmed this in a search of the PlayStation store and CDPR’s own investor website (with the help of Google Translate):
According to The Verge, users on the PS5 experienced routine crashes of the game while PS4 users reported poor performance, terrible framerates, and texture issues. As of now, there does not seem to be a timeline for Cyberpunk 2077 to return to the PlayStation Store. As for the game itself, CD Projekt Red has promised a “major patch” to be released on December 21st.
